Tip #5: Calibrating your Temperature Gauge
MONDAY 06.22.2020

Standard thermometers, the ones used in most grills and smokers can be off as much as 75 degrees F in either direction.

Calibrating your grill's thermometer

Cooking the perfect meal on the grill requires two main things: time and temperature. Most grills have a thermometer on the lid, and we use that to control the temperature variable. But here's the bad news: standard thermometers, the ones used in most grills and smokers can be off as much as 75 degrees F in either direction.

To ensure you get the results you want on the grill, it is important to calibrate your thermometer once in a while. Click on the video below to see how to do it.

Favorite charcoal

Great flavor and lights easily. Great for both long and short cooks.

Best lump I’ve used

I’ve tried quite a few different lump charcoals and this is hands down the best.

3 bags of super premium lump coal

Love it. Best out there.

Very happy with product.

Blown away

Definitely 5 out of 5 starts and beyond impressed. I have a drum smoker that I was doing a brisket on. Smoked for 10 hours before wrapping and still had half a basket full of charcoal. Normally it’d be totally gone with other charcoal. Burned very steady and even. Definitely is my new favorite.
