FOGO ARGENTINIAN QUEBRACHO LUMP CHARCOAL (35LBS)

Charcoal

  • Quebracho All Natural Hardwood Lump Charcoal ( 50/50 mix of large and medium sized pieces)
  • South American Quebracho Wood - Axe Breaker Ironwood, Super dense long lasting charcoal
  • Lights quickly and burns hotter and longer
  • Restaurant Quality
  • FREE SHIPPING

Quebracho Hardwood Charcoal is made from dense South American Hardwoods known as Axe Breaker and Ironwood. It is very dense wood, that makes a heavy long burning charcoal.

The large sizes will ensure a very long and slow burn in your ceramic Kamado style cooker (Big Green Egg, Primo, Kamado Joe etc).

When regulating the airflow this is a very hot burning charcoal, hotter even than FOGO 35 and Kebroak 40. This charcoal does particularly well in restaurants and with BBQ enthusiasts that like to get a good sear on the meat without overcooking, especially thinner cuts.

Best Coal for Your Grill

The charcoal comes in large 35-pound restaurant-sized bags. With this charcoal there are usually larger pieces. The bag also comes with medium to smaller pieces for a perfect mix. Over half the bag was medium sized pieces and less than 10% of the bag was smaller pieces.

Lighting the charcoal will take some effort. I use a couple tumbleweed fire starters to get the coals lit. The fire is slow to spread, and the charcoal burn with a mild beautifully aromatic smoke.

This coal also burns for a long time, so it is an excellent option for long cooks. It also lasts much longer than other brands I have used.

Wow!

I've never used lump charcoal of this quality. I mostly use charcoal to do low-and-slow cooking and so finding the perfect lump charcoal is quite hard - I normally stick with briquettes. This lump charcoal is something else though. It burns slowly with little ash OR sears the steak perfectly. The chunks are large and clearly of excellent quality. The taste is excellent as well. I am sold on this for life. The gold standard of lump charcoal!

Hot stuff

Really like how hot this charcoal burns. Lasts a long time as well. Does take a bit to get going. I actually had an issue with excessive sparks from my first bag. I sent a video of it and was promptly sent a new bag free of charge. Excellent customer service.

Impressive

First use of it, lit easily, burned slow, good flavor. Used it for a Boston Butt. When done after 15 hrs there was still 1/2 or more left in the egg! Kept an even temperature throughout entire cook, no spiking.

Thumbs Up For These Starters

I just recently tried a pack of these and I’m hooked on them now. Easy to light and the pack size is about right for the use you have in a 35 lb bag of lump.

A replacement

The most recent bag was a replacement for one I received damaged. No hassles, no crap. Sent a couple of pictures and a replacement bag was shipped out.
Great product, great service. Must be the reason I only use FOGO

Nothing but the best

Have order several times in the past and will continue to. Also burns clean, hot, and nice size lumps.

Bold Brazilian Flavor

I used this to smoke an untrimmed Tri-tip seasoned only with Kosher salt. The flavor complexity and intensity from the Eucalyptus Charcoal was amazing. Definitely worth trying out.
