Blue vs. White Smoke in the BGE

We recently released a video that covered everything about smoking meats in the Big Green Egg, or so we thought. We got barraged with questions about the differences between white smoke and blue smoke. Which is more desirable, how to achieve the proper smoke and how it affects the results when you’re cooking. The video today is here to answer all the questions you may have about the proper smoke, how to achieve it and why it makes a difference.

  • I enjoy all your videos. I especially have enjoyed the tutorials on the BGE. I’ve been grilling with an XL BGE for a 3-4 years and always played with the top and bottom vents to get the temp. to where I wanted it….watching your video about temp control and the fact you can use only one of the vents (either the top or bottom) was incredibly helpful.
